Bowling

Today was our turn to watch over another boy from school whose mother works.  He is in Levi's class and I am very very tired.  OK he isn't diagnosed with anything but he does have the shortest attention span I had seen for a while and he was tiring for me trying to keep him out of trouble.  I had forgotten how relaxed I can be with Levi now.  If I tell him not to do something, then most of the time he doesn't and he never does anything deliberately bad.  I am blessed and I forget.  It was a nice little wake up for me again.

Levi had a bit of bowling and then decided that the sliding shoes and the music was just too much to resist and just danced.  He had a bit of problem getting used to the shoes to begin with as you can see but we got there in the end.

After bowling Di and I took the four kids to see the Lorax.  It was great and they all loved it.  I love that Dr Seuss was so before his time in the environmental message.  They did a really good job of the movie as well.

Slowly Getting Going

Today we went bowling.  Actually yesterday and today we have done fun little things in the morning and then we have a quiet one at home.  So yesterday, Pam came over and we both took Levi to Go Wild for an hour or so.  It wasn't long because every man and their dog was there as well.  Frankly there just isn't that much to do in the Easter break when it is raining.  Even the egg hunt looks at risk at the moment because it is just too wet.

So today we went bowling.  Again a dry activity for kids,  and they had a special!  We went with Zac and Alex and they had loads of fun.  The slippery shoes made for plenty of entertainment for Di and I as well.  Alex won resoundingly both games, mostly because he used the ramp and the other boys didn't.  Both Levi and Zac were able to achieve something amazing, that I didn't think possible; they were both able to throw a gutter ball while the bumpers were up and in place.  Ah well, they had fun and that was all that was relevant.

Bowling

 Today was a busy one again.  The rain last night pushed the creek up and then back down again but it sits hovering at a level that quickly becomes impassable.  This morning it was passable.  We went to a kid's 6th birthday at the bowling alley.  It was the same kid whose mother has been harassing Levi, but I decided that I would be the adult and allow Levi to go.  I was not going to just drop him off and leave him though.  I didn't trust anyone that much.

It was a Star Wars party, which was a little difficult.  It meant that the kids were hyped up and then given light sabers to beat each other up with.  I was mostly just watching the kids and making sure that they were all playing OK together.  At one point I was out of the room but when I came back in Levi was distraught.  The story is that he and another kid were whacking each other with swords.  Levi clipped the other kid's ear and he cried.  Levi then said he was sorry "like 100 times!!" but got corrected by the birthday child's mother.  Levi was sobbing on my knee for about 15 minutes, while it seems the one who got hurt was fine.  At one point Levi said to me;
"I am never going to play with anyone except you ever again, it is too hard!"

I think he is a little jaded about the friend thing at the moment.  He settled down after a few cuddles and happy thoughts but it will take a little longer before he isn't gun shy.

After bowling we went and played with Luke and Nate at the big playplace just around the corner.  It was a pretty good day all around.
