Bowling
Today was our turn to watch over another boy from school whose mother works. He is in Levi's class and I am very very tired. OK he isn't diagnosed with anything but he does have the shortest attention span I had seen for a while and he was tiring for me trying to keep him out of trouble. I had forgotten how relaxed I can be with Levi now. If I tell him not to do something, then most of the time he doesn't and he never does anything deliberately bad. I am blessed and I forget. It was a nice little wake up for me again.
Levi had a bit of bowling and then decided that the sliding shoes and the music was just too much to resist and just danced. He had a bit of problem getting used to the shoes to begin with as you can see but we got there in the end.
After bowling Di and I took the four kids to see the Lorax. It was great and they all loved it. I love that Dr Seuss was so before his time in the environmental message. They did a really good job of the movie as well.

Sleep and Rapids
The sky behind me was clear blue. The sky in front looked like this.
And just because I was downloading from my iPhone, here is some video of Levi in the creek last weekend. Pete would wait downstream and be the brake and the safety net, and the kids would start upstream and get washed down by the rapids! So much fun and plans for next weekend as well!

Levi Flying High!!
Today we had the first of our free days. Levi had "swimming intensive" class in the morning and then we met Teresa and her two younger kids at McDonalds. Levi of course was happy because Robbie was there. They get on so well it is very fun to watch, but mostly we caught up, gossipped and chatted and did very little watching.
Levi loves to play fight and play 'tricks'. He is getting quite good but I think my hamstring length is getting better in the process as well. He loves to try and get up on my feet and for the first time he did it well tonight. So we got Jane down to videotape his achievement. Hers is the voice that you hear in the video. I have to keep my tummy muscles quite tight as regularly he falls on them. He does lose it at the end and I may even look at sending the footage to Funniest Home Videos, just for the sudden fall at the end..

Birthday still
We went to Sizzler for his birthday. Pretty much it was me and Mim and Pam. I think we were all ready for a little 'not have to cook' dining. It has been a busy few weeks for me with this course at the Royal Children's to get over with. I think the participants got a lot out of it, but I was back and forwards to and from work as well which made the parts I didn't have to organize a little disjointed. I am going to be grateful to have it off my plate and get back to real work for a while. Actually that is not completely true. I only have to work for about 2 weeks and then I am on vacation for three weeks with Levi, so I am hoping at the end of all of that I will be very relaxed.
Levi had Jane as his teacher the last two days because she is supply teaching and his teacher has been ill. He loves to have her there and gets a real kick out of the idea. All of his friends love it too because they are so used to seeing Jane they get a surprise when she is their teacher.

Day Off
I took the day off today. Actually more specifically I took most of the day off today. I had to go into work to have a meeting. I hadn't wanted to come in but I had already changed the time and dates of this meeting 4 times and I think my colleagues would all mutiny if I changed it again. Luckily Levi loves going to work, and he gets spoiled rotten.
I took him to the doctor today and I must be getting old because the doctor was about 12 years old or so he looked. At least he knew which end of the stethoscope to put in his ears. Levi has perfected the 'two finger technique' for picking his nose which is just gross to watch. It was fun to have a day with him though. We had time making plaster critters to paint for his birthday party and I looked up ideas on the Internet. I think that I can swing it another year at home. We have a number limit on the kids invited. He gets to have as many friends over as his birthday age is, so we are having Zac, Ty, Luke, Jules and Ruby. On top of that he is also inviting Robbie because his birthday is the same day although about 8 years ahead of him.
Tonight Zac and Alex (and their parents) came over after dinner and the kids belted around upstairs. Levi was already hyped up on Ventolin so it didn't take much to go the next step. Here is a video of Levi doing Yankee Doodle (if I can get it to load).
